The Sakhalin-2 project commissioned the booster compressor station of the integrated onshore technological complex

The ceremony was attended by Valery Limarenko, Governor of the Sakhalin Oblast, Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of PJSC Gazprom, Sergey Menshikov, Member of the Management Committee, Head of the Department of PJSC Gazprom, representatives of Mitsui and Mitsubishi Company participants, and Roman Dashkov, Chief Executive Officer of Sakhalin Energy LLC. Together they launched the start of operations of a new production facility of the integrated gas chain - the DCS.
The booster compressor station is located in the northeastern part of Sakhalin Island, in the area of landfall of the offshore gas pipeline from the Lunskoye-A platform. The facility is designed to compensate for the reservoir pressure reduction at gas production wellheads and further efficient development of the Lunskoye field.
Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee noted the complexity of the OPF DCS construction works, especially in the current challenging conditions.

- This is a truly exemplary example of successful implementation of a modern, high-tech project without foreign partners. Expansion of the Sakhalin-2 project's production capacities will allow to increase hydrocarbon production and make a real contribution to strengthening the energy security of the Far Eastern Federal District," emphasized Vitaly Markelov.

More than three thousand Russian specialists from many regions of our country have invested colossal labor in the implementation of the strategically important production facility, solved a number of complex engineering and logistical problems, taken into account all environmental requirements, introduced unique equipment of domestic production. Within the framework of the solemn ceremony the key partners and main participants of the successful realization of the DCS construction project were awarded.

- Despite external constraints, the oil and gas industry - the backbone of the economy of Sakhalin and the Kurils - has not only survived, but is successfully developing, playing a significant role in the economy of our region. Today I have the honor of opening a new booster compressor station. This is an important event not only for the implementation of the Sakhalin-2 project, but also for the entire region. The commissioning of the new production facility will ensure a stable gas supply to consumers for a long time - their number is growing in the region every year due to the gasification program," said Valery Limarenko, Governor of the Sakhalin Region.

- Given that the Company's planning horizon spans decades, Sakhalin Energy is already thinking ahead to ensure that all its commitments to stakeholders are fulfilled. The booster compressor station is a key production facility in the gas chain of the Sakhalin-2 project, necessary for the efficient development of the Lunskoye field. The project utilized the largest amount of Russian equipment: separators, gas compressor units, compressors and air coolers designed for high performance in conditions of any complexity. In addition, the facility operation and maintenance services will be provided by the anchor contractor and partner Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk, which currently already maintains the trans-Sakhalin pipeline system of the Sakhalin-2 project.

The maximum daily volume of liquid hydrocarbons (oil and condensate) supplied by the Company is 22.09 thousand tons. The maximum daily capacity of DCS for pumped natural gas is 56.6 million st. m3 (winter mode) and 49.4 million st. m3 (summer mode)," said Roman Dashkov, Chief Executive Officer of Sakhalin Energy LLC.
