ABOUT THE FORUM

The first Sakhalin Oil and Gas Forum was held in 1995 with the active support of the Sakhalin Oblast Government. Its goal was to create a platform for technological cooperation and support of oil and gas projects in the region.

The forum was initially held in London, UK, to attract international technology developers and investors. The operators of Sakhalin projects signed numerous agreements with international partners. The forum was later moved to Sakhalin and became the energy center of the Far East and a place for innovation in oil and gas exploration and production.

The Forum brings together key players in the Sakhalin oil and gas market, including companies, equipment suppliers, scientific organizations and government representatives. It has become a platform for sharing experience and establishing business relations. The forum discusses topical issues such as technological advances, cost reduction, digitalization of processes and environmental safety.

Sakhalin is also a testing ground for climate experiment and strives to be ahead in developing innovative projects on gas liquefaction and the use of environmentally friendly technologies.
