ABOUT THE FORUM
The Sakhalin Oil and Gas Forum is a key event for the development of the energy sector in Russia's Far Eastern Federal District.
This year, for the first time, the forum will be held on several platforms, with new topics and sections, as well as an extensive cultural, entertainment and educational program. Special attention this year will be paid to youth support measures and professional growth, social projects, innovations in ecology and production, and promotion of the Sakhalin Region’s geobrand.
The new forum format reflects the strategic goal of the energy sector of the Sakhalin Region and the Russian Far East — to create a reliable foundation for the integrated development of the territories, including production and logistics facilities, social infrastructure and environmental policy.
In addition to traditional topics such as offshore projects, hydrocarbon production and deep processing, logistics and sales markets, this year special attention is paid to the professional development of young people, ecology and climate, ocean economy, and social aspects and development of the region.

Hydrogen energy projects occupy a special place in the discussion of sustainable and environmentally friendly development. The Sakhalin Hydrogen Proving Ground — part of the Eastern Hydrogen Cluster — was created to test and validate hydrogen equipment under the conditions of the existing infrastructure.
In the context of the development of the Eastern Energy Outpost, it is especially important to ensure the region’s technological autonomy. The plenary session will discuss the results of 30 years of work on offshore projects, strategies for the energy sector of Sakhalin and the Far East, international cooperation and energy stability of the macro-region, prospects for liquefied natural gas technologies, support measures for oil and gas projects, as well as the coordinated work of science and industry — the processes of development and introduction of innovations into production.
As has been the tradition in recent years, the forum will summarize the interim results of the Sakhalin Climate Experiment aimed at achieving full carbon neutrality in the region by 2025. The comprehensive climate program includes gasification of territories, energy saving and energy efficiency improvement, use of renewable energy sources and environmentally friendly fuel for transport, modernization of the waste management system and land reclamation.
The personnel agenda in the oil and gas industry — a traditional part of the forum — this year is aimed at professional promotion of young people. The youth program will discuss the human resources of the Sakhalin Region, professional development and employment, involvement of young specialists in the real sector of the economy and decision-making processes. There will be consultations and master classes, meetings with industry leaders and experts.
